How to Flash the Firmware in the 1040 and 1022 Series Controllers and the LAN module.

Warning!!!!!!
If the Controller or Module is powered down during a Flash update the 1040P processor will be damaged
and will require replacing. This Voids all Warranty.

1: Make sure the WinDSX Database and Workstation Programs are not running.

*** Note: The DSX Panels will take a download after the flash program is
finished. All of the output will de-energize possible causing some doors to
unlock. ****

2: Copy the DSXFlash.exe program, DSXFlash.hlp, DSXFlash.cnt, and the VXXXX.DSX
(i.e. V30??.DSX) file into the WinDSX Folder.

3:	Run the DSXFlash.exe program. The Default login is "master" and the password
is "master". This can be changed within the DSX Database program under
System, Setup, System Parameters. You will also need to know the location
password if this is a modem site and a password has been programmed.

4:	Once you are logged into the Flash program, click on File, then Open. Navigate to
the V30??.DSX file within the DSX folder and click on Open.

5:	Click on Setup, then select between Comm Port (for direct connect sites), Modem
(for modem connected sites), or Lan (for connection through the
network). For a direct connect site, set the Comm Port number the Master Controller is
attached to. For a modem site, put a check by "Modem", then go down to modem phone number
and insert the control panels' phone number. Also check the Initialization String and make sure it is set
up as ATM1V0Q0E0X0&D2&K0\N0S0=0%E0. You will also need the Location
Password if one has been assigned to the site. For an IP site check "IP Site", then
clink on Enter IP Address and enter the IP Address of the Lan unit and the
IP Port Number.

6:	Click on "Download", then "Start". Once this is done the program will ask you if
the relays are in the desired position before beginning the download. Once the
firmware update has begun all control panels will stop processing cards and the
relay outputs will remain in their current state. Click on "OK". The program will
then ask you if you are sure you want to update the firmware. Click "Yes" to start
the download and "No" to exit. Enter the Location Password if one has been
programmed into the panel.

7: The flashing of the firmware will start now. The process will take several minutes
to finish, typically from 5-15 minutes or longer. This time will vary according to
the speed of the network. Modem connection sites will take longer than direct
connect sites.

8:	Once the down load is complete, the Flash Program will say "Download
Success". The 104X Control Panel will need to take a full download after the
flash is complete. All outputs will change state causing the doors to unlock.
